Inspired by the flavor profile of a Bordeaux Rive Droite (citrus, black cherry, walnut), this cigar blend mirrors the Bordeaux tradition of combining three grape varieties. In a groundbreaking move, Davidoff has aged one of the filler tobaccos in a Premier Grand Cru Classé red wine barrel from Bordeaux, an innovation never before attempted.

The San Vicente Seco filler leaf—a delicate tobacco—absorbs more flavor from the barrel, imbuing the cigar with the fruity and complex character of the wine. The figurado shape highlights the unmatched skills of Davidoff’s expert rollers, allowing cigar enthusiasts to experience this extraordinary composition of tobaccos and flavors gradually.

Barrel-Aging Process

The Barrel
The filler leaves are carefully packed into a Premier Grand Cru Classé red wine barrel from Bordeaux, France. Inside the sealed barrel, fermentation occurs as the temperature rises. Regular monitoring ensures that the tobacco doesn’t overheat during the process.

The Aging
The San Vicente Seco filler leaf undergoes six months of aging in the barrel, during which the leaves are rotated every two weeks. This labor-intensive process allows the tobacco to naturally absorb the wine’s aromas from the wood without any direct application of wine to the leaves.

The Result
This meticulous barrel-aging technique enhances the complexity and depth of flavors. Specifically, the San Vicente Seco tobacco from the Dominican Republic benefits greatly from the process, as its delicate leaves are uniquely suited to absorb the wine’s aromatic character.
