Punch is one of the oldest brands of Habanos. Founded in the mid-19th century by Don Manuel Lopez of Juan Valle and Co with the aim of conquering the British market during a period when a humorous magazine with the same name was in vogue. Even today, a century and a half later, the figure of Mr. Punch, the clown who presented the magazine, surrounded by images of cigar making, is used on the cigar box. In 1925, Punch was moved to the Hoyo De Monterrey factory, and their collaboration continues to this day.
The distinct, medium-strength flavor of Punch is owed to a blend of tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region, and all its cigars are handcrafted “totalmente a mano” and made using the long filler “tripa larga” method.
