Savinelli’s Balsa System Pipe Filters are extremely absorbent.
The Savinelli Balsa filter is a filtration system that uses the natural properties of balsa wood. It allows absorption of moisture and impurities from the smoke, without the addition of chemical elements, ensuring a clean smoke. This absorption capacity is due to the highly porous balsa fibers, without altering the aroma of tobacco.
This patented filtering system has been tested both by the EURATOM Research Center of Ispra and by CHEMICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY Inc. Research Center (USA) with, about the same results: “.. the Balsa filter has the ability to absorb 77% of nicotine and 91% of the tar contained in the tobacco without altering the taste.” The filter is simple and easy to use.
Savinelli recommends replacing the filter every two or three times or every time you clean the mouthpiece.
