XIKAR – HumiFan™ Fan for Humidor (831Xi)

Description

Xikar noticed that within the humidor, humidity tends towards the highest point. The humidity differences between the base and the highest point can be approximately 5%.

This issue is addressed by the HumiFan™, which provides intermittent circulation of air inside the humidor, allowing your cigars to “breathe” by redistributing air inside your humidifier to achieve the proper humidity level, providing a stable environment for your cigars.

The fan operates in cycles of 15 seconds every 15 minutes. Thanks to the angular centrifugal fan, air circulation is maximized. It features an oversized intake side for maximum air redistribution. LED indicator for battery status. Batteries included (four AA batteries). Dimensions: 15 x 7.5 x 2.5 cm

The history of Xikar begins in 1994 in Kansas. Kurt Van Keppel, (now president of Xikar), who wanted to buy a good cigar cutter, found many of the cheap models and high-end models to be inefficient. So, he started with Scott Almsberger to design a more ergonomic cigar cutter. The result was the Xi cutter, which they first manufactured in their garage and is now the market leader.

The name XIKAR comes from the word sikar, which is said to be the first Spanish spelling of the Taino word for cigar. The Taino were the indigenous populations of Spain and Cuba, where Columbus first landed when he discovered the “New World” and tobacco along with it. We changed the S to an X (representing 2 blades) and had the X cutting through the i, like a cutter cutting through a cigar!
