PETERSON – St. Patrick’s Day 2022 (XL11) Fishtail (9mm)
First appearing as our Sherlock Holmes Commemorative pipe in 1987, and later as part of our Original Sherlock Holmes collection (1899-1991), this extra-large Calabash shape was designed by our senior craftsman Paddy Larrigan, and features a bold, trumpeting bowl, deep, full bend, and the stout, muscular proportions that define our House Style.
Since 1998, we’ve released an annual special edition St. Patrick’s Day line, presenting a number of our most popular shapes in a festive, distinctly Irish finish unique to the year. Our 2022 edition celebrates that tradition by elevating our beloved Classic Range shapes with bright nickel army mounts, emerald green acrylic mouthpieces, earth, dark brown stains, and our time-honored rusticated finishes. Each pipe is also accompanied by its own matching green leather pipe stand.
In addition to our regular production ranges, we also offer a number of limited-edition series unique to each year. These lines celebrate our rich history and tradition of craftsmanship, often looking to the past in order to innovate for tomorrow. In London in 1865, two German brothers, George and Frederick Kapp, established a pipe-making business. George Kapp & Co. In 1874, Frederick decoded to strike out on his own and moved to Dublin to continue his pipe making endeavours. A year later,a young Latvian, Charles Peterson, joined the business. Charles brought with him two great assets: a creative instict for designing pipes plus outstanding craftmanship. It was a powerful combination. In time, Kapp & Peterson became simply Peterson. And the rest is a continuing story of heritage and history, innovation and individuality.
