The story behind Shanky’s Whip is an intriguing tale of a fantastical Irish jockey named Shanky who, according to legend, was thrown off his horse mid-race. Undeterred, he returned to the track with an ostrich, a cart, and a whip to finish the race. The vintage-inspired packaging, which resembles a giant matchbox, features an illustration of Shanky with his ostrich cart, framed by a golden horseshoe.

Shanky was always a trendsetter and loved Irish whiskey, except for its burn. He enjoyed the flavor of cream but not its texture. On the other hand, he adored everything about stout beer. So, he created Shanky’s Whip by mixing everything he liked and leaving out what he didn’t, all in one bottle.

To create this whiskey liqueur, a black Irish pot still whiskey is blended with natural flavors of vanilla, caramel, and a creamy stout-like finish, resulting in a smooth, rich flavor without the burn of typical whiskeys. Shanky’s Whip’s subtle spiciness is balanced by the aromas of sweet vanilla and nutty caramel, creating the perfect harmony between sweetness and spice. With an ABV of 33%, Shanky’s Whip is ideal for sipping neat or mixing into cocktails.
