Vauen was founded as Vereinigte Pfeifenfabriken in Nuremberg in 1901 and is the biggest smoking pipes manufacturer. In the search for a more recognizable brand name, Ernst Eckert, son of Adolf Eckert renamed the company to VAUEN. VAUEN was one of the first manufacturers that inserted a simple paper filter in 1921. More research and development lead Dr. Perl junior to the active charcoal filter with a 9 mm diameter that was first introduced in 1934 as a worldwide innovation. A huge success! After 1945 the company, managed to overcome the catastrophic consequences of the war with an innovative spirit. VAUEN became a company with worldwide fame. It is time for a Vauen !
